Red Sable

This is Rums first son that was produced from a mating with Dondi's Judy Kay's Cameo Miss. He is the most beautiful German Red Sable Dachshund. A lot of dachshund breeders have confused what a red sable is, with a red dachshund that has a dark overlay. This is not a red sable. A true red sable to the novice might look black & tan from a distance, but a true red sable when the coat is brushed back the opposite direction, each hair is tipped in red. They have the tan markings as a black & tan, on their muzzles, feet, and around tail, but then that deep rich black on their main body with under tones of red on each hair shaft.

He has such a sweet disposition and looks up to Rum, his dad to teach him how to do everything. If Rum barks, then Dakota barks. You don't see Dakota unless Rum is right beside him.

Dakota recently was mated to Judy Kay's Bailey Irish Cream ML, a Klasic daughter and Rum Grand-daughter. The litter was born September 01, 2005. We now have 3 gorgeous little dachshund girls, all black & cream.
